Between 7-9 September 2023, Malta hosted this year’s European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) meeting, bringing to Malta Director Generals of Civil Aviation and other high representatives from the 44 Member States, delegates from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), EUROCONTROL and the European Commission.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, on 7 September 2023, the Directors General of Civil Aviation from the Central European Rotation Group (CERG) had a meeting during which they discussed the most important subjects that were going to be on the ECAC DGCA/72 (SP) agenda, underlining the need to ensure that the rules established by the ECAC Constitution and the ECAC-EUROCONTROL Agreement will be respected.

Also, on 8 September 2023, the Directors General of Civil Aviation from the Central European Rotation Group (CERG) had an informal meeting during which they discussed the need to amend the CERG Memorandum of Understanding in order to ensure a closer collaboration between the CERG Member States in order to obtain a common position of the CERG Member States on subjects of interest for this area and to secure a place for the Czech Republic – the CERG candidate - in the ICAO Council at the end of the elections that will take place in 2025.
